CATCH UP

Nothing like trying to play catch up on all the end of summer things that went on.
There is no way to remember everything, but here are a few of the highlights!

We went to see "The Sound of Music" at Sundance. It was so wonderful. Giovanni and Brian were such troopers to go with me. There was some rain and wind, but it was still a wonderful night! Thank you  both for putting up with me and taking me....I loved it!!!

School started this last week. I can't believe that Brian is in 7th grade, and almost 13!

How did we go from this: Teacher Tracy Preschool

To this: First day at Dixon Middle School

We are so excited for Brian and all of the wonderful experiences that he is going to have. He has some great teachers and good friend. It should be a great year for him. Two of his teacher's were Robert's teachers when he went there...kinda' fun!

Last weekend it was ward temple night before our ward conference. What a wonderful evening to go the temple with neighbors and friends. We are so blessed to live in such a great city and in a wonderful neighborhood.

not the best picture...it was dark

And the best news of all...this past Monday we received a letter from Robert's mission president in Italy. They needed his information to begin making his travel plans to come home. His official release date is.............
MARCH 9, 2012!!!!
Can you believe it??? I can't! It seems surreal to me that he will be home in 6 months. He will be gone 18 months this Saturday. I can't wait to put my arms around that boy and give him a big hug like only a mother can give!

Robert and Anz Trevor Mendel

I have also been asked to be the PTA VP at the middle school. I have to admit that I'm not really sure what that all means yet, but I'm sure I'll be finding out real soon. For now I'm just excited to help and have a job that gives me the opportunity and free time to do so.

Well dear family and friends...this is what we have been up to lately. I will try to do better at keeping up on things as they happen.
I hope that your summer was as wonderful as our was!

This was a great catch up post. Brian looks great on his first day of school and so much like Robert. My 7th grader was a bit more frightened!
