I am not even going to try and catch up. We have been busy here at the Bona home.
Brian has been to two basketball camps during the month of June. The first one was through Provo High and started the week after school got out. It was for about 3 weeks. Then this last week he attended one at UVU. Now there will be open court at the high school every day so I guess he'll be going there too. Not sure if it will be every day, but it least 3 times a week he will go to that.
Robert just finished his first block at UVU. He took an English class...critical writing. What on earth was he thinking. Oh wait..he wasn't. Well actually he didn't have a choice. But now he is done with English! Thank goodness. He had to write 3 papers for the class. The first was on "coming out of his cave". In other words leaving his comfort zone. He wrote about serving his mission and learning to talk to strangers, etc. Then he had a 10-12 page research paper. He did it on Autism. Boy...that was a hard one! Thank you Giovanni for all the time you spent helping him out with that one. And thanks to Aimee and Steve for their professional input as well. Then the last paper was on "how to"..basically you had to write in detail how to do something. In the class the professor had all the students tell what their topic was. Robert said that most of the students wrote about how to long board, make a cake, etc...his topic was a bit more in depth. He wrote about how to be converted to the gospel of Jesus Christ. Some of the kids in the class chuckled at his topic. The professor (who isn't LDS) just smiled at him and said that it was obvious what he had been doing for the past two years. He replied "yup". I am proud of him and that he didn't back down from the desire to write that paper. He wasn't afraid of comments, etc...he wrote about what he believed and felt that it was the right choice! Way to go Robert! On Monday he will start his Philosophy class...that should be fun!
Gio and I have been busy with church, work, and just being parents to these two boys! And it has been great! As a family we have gone to some movies, plays, and spent time together and it has been wonderful! We had the chance last weekend to get together with some missionaries that served in the same mission as I did...wow...after 24-25 years it was great to see them again. It is amazing how after so much time has past you can still sit in a room with someone that you don't really know anymore and pick up like it was yesterday. Truly life long friends with a spacial bond!
Today Gio and I are off to Vegas for a few days without the boys. They are going to stay home and "party" and we are going to hook up with the Italian cousins for a few days! We are looking forward to seeing them again!
I really will post pictures on the next post of some of the things that we have been doing! But needless to say, it has been a great summer so far. We feel blessed to be together again as a family and are thankful for the blessings that we have.
