FRIDAY THE 13TH

When I woke up this morning I knew that it wasn't going to be a good day. They way I felt was a good indication. of it. After spending part of the morning in the bathroom and the other part in bed I am finally up and trying to move around. I just ate a piece of toast. We'll see how that goes. I am sucking on ice chips too so that I can stay hydrated. About half way through the morning I realized that today was Friday the 13th. That explains it! Hopefully it is just some one day thing and will pass quickly. It is so beautiful outside and I hate being inside when I could enjoy some of the sunshine and heat going on outside.

I finally changed the music on the blog. Did you notice? I've been wanting to do it for several months, but never had the time. Since Blogger was down this morning I took the opportunity to go in and switch things up a bit.

I haven't written anything here for so long that I don't even know where I left off, so sorry in advance if this post is all over the place...I'll just write about things as I remember them, and the way I feel right now, who knows....this could be dangerous.

Robert called home for Mother's Day. That was fantastic. Go here if you want to know what he's up to.
It was wonderful to hear his voice again. It's been a long time since Christmas. And will be a long time until Christmas! But just think...one more phone call and he will be home a few months after that! He is doing so well. He seems happy. I am so proud of him and all that he is doing. As we talked with him he started talking about all the things he wants to do when he comes home. It will be a great reunion. I won't tell him...but I already have the airport scene worked out in my mind...and the house too....the decorations, etc...I better stop or I might get to trunky!

Last weekend we went to a birthday party for our friend Mary. We had a lot of fun. We didn't stay until the end because we needed to get home to Brian. But it sure was fun to spend some time with our Italian friends. No one knows how to have a party like a bunch of Italians do. We ate wonderful food and talked and had a fun time with them.

Giovanni and Brian went back to Florida. They ended up driving to Las Vegas and taking the plane from there (the joys of standby flying) because the flights were better. They were so excited and happy to go back again for the space shuttle launch.  It has been Gio's dream forever...so off they went, and I stayed home again. But all good....I was happy they were able to go.

This time they flew into Tampa and went back to Clearwater Beach and had a great time. Here are a few pictures of them on the beach and hotel.

The weather was perfect for the launch. There was a bit of wind and a few sprinkles...but all seemed a go!

While they waited for the launch there were a few activities for them to do there at NASA.

But.....then the unthinkable happened...the launch was scrubbed....AGAIN! What disappointment. They were devastated along with the 50,000+ other people that were there for the launch as well. They were told that the launch might happen on Monday...they debated if they should prolong their trip for a few days just in case...but decided to come home. Gio and Brian had missed 6 days of school and work out of 10. It was time to come back to reality. That was back in April ....and hopefully if all goes well the shuttle with launch on Monday morning...May 16th. Good thing they didn't wait.

Another exciting thing is Brian's friend T* came to town for one day on his way to Seattle to continue with Mary Poppins. He was here to be ordained a Deacon. Brian and his friend K* checked out of school early and the 3 Amigo's were together again for one short afternoon...but we might need to start calling them the 4 Musketeer's because now there is J*, T's* little brother!

Brian and I hope to go to San Diego for a few days to visit them the end of July or start of August while he is there performing! And the great thing is...T will finish his tour here in SLC in September. So the boys will have some time to hang out together!

One other thing did happen that I guess I'll add as well. Prince William and Catherine Middleton were married. It was so obvious from their pictures that they do really love each other. What I saw of the wedding was lovely. (It was the same day the launch was suppose to happen). Princess Diana would have been so happy of her son. He has grown into a fine man.
